The first dedicated awards ever held for the South African flooring industry took place on 17 October 2013 at a glittering gala dinner at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Rosebank, Johannesburg. Over 300 guests were in attendance, including both international and local flooring companies of South Africa’s finest.
Legrand South Africa received the award HIGHLY COMMENDED for SOLUFLEX in the category BEST INNOVATION IN FLOORING. In total 13 entries were entered in this category.
Flooring Award
Nine award categories were presented with a total of 67 entries received across all categories. Each category was judged by a specialist unbiased expert group, totaling 21 judges. Awards included Contribution to Skills Development; Individual Lifetime Achievement; Most Environmentally Friendly Product; Longest Lifespan Installation; Best Innovation in Flooring by Product; Best Flooring Project; Best Contractor for Continuous Contribution; Longest standing client and 360 Degrees Excellence in Flooring.
Keynote address of the evening was the honour of Gary Bailey, who is well known as a sports presenter on Sky Sports and as a goalkeeper previously with Kaiser Chiefs and Manchester United.
Liezel vd Merwe, founder of the awards, stated, “The event was nothing less than that of the Grammy Nominees of the flooring industry which is much needed to assist in the upliftment of the industry as a whole.”
Roxanne Mancini, managing member, also included, “The event set the stage for performance standards within the industry, the evening itself was nothing short of an enormous success. We once again congratulate all the winners”
